Genting Dream Cruise to Nowhere Review - Part 4: Activities and Shows
There is one thing I have noticed in common on all the cruises I have taken so far. If you want to enjoy as many activities as possible, you need to plan your itinerary properly.
However, you cannot plan your itinerary before boarding, as the cruise company only distributes the daily schedule after you board the ship. So, what you can do before boarding is to decide what activities you want to participate in. After boarding, you can decide the order of the activities.
In this article, I will share as much information as I have about the activities on the "World Dream Cruise to Nowhere". I hope that by the end of this article, you will have decided which activities you want to participate in.
PS: In 2021, when I visited, the ship was called World Dream. However, in 2022, it was renamed Resort World Cruise. Please be aware that the two are interchangeable. )

Tips for booking activities and shows
Some activities and performances require advance booking, while others are first come, first served (meaning you need to queue before the activity or performance starts).
The popular activities that are always fully booked are the Jacuzzi, Pool, Mini Golf, Table Tennis and Show. To ensure that you get a slot for the Jacuzzi, Pool, Golf and Table Tennis, show up at the respective booking counters early in the morning after breakfast.
It is very difficult to get a slot for the Jacuzzi. If you are not able to get a slot for the Jacuzzi, you can gamble your luck by booking a slot for the Pool and jump in when the person using the Jacuzzi finishes their work for the day. You can also enjoy the steam bath, sauna and hot tub by paying the Crystal Life SPA fee (SGD 20).
Bookings for the free broadcasts can be done through the Dream app. The slots are not released at the same time, but limited slots are released every hour, so it is quite difficult to grab a slot unless you have fast fingers. If you are not able to secure a slot through the Dream app but still want to attend the show, here is a trick. If there are guests who have not shown up when the show starts, they will let you in.
Palace guests can book activities through a dedicated lane, so there is no need to queue at the booking counter or check the Dream app to sign up for the activities.
Swimming
If you are not a member of the group like us, you can swim in the main pool (inside deck 16). You need to make a reservation in advance at the towel counter next to the main pool. Each reservation is only valid for one hour. Towels are provided free of charge. However, there are no lockers, so you have to leave them in the sun lounge. We decided not to bring our cell phones to prevent theft. However, we have to bring our keys and Tracy tokens.
To be honest, I think the pool is quite small (and not very clean). Just enough at the last minute. In our case, the Jacuzzi slot was full when we wanted to book it. So what we did was to book the pool reception and gamble on luck that the people who booked the hot tub at the same time as the US would finish their bathing within an hour and we could use the hot tub after they were done. Our gamble paid off.
Main Pool and JacuzziJacuzzi
There are four jacuzzis surrounding the main pool (middle deck 16) and two at Zouk Beach Club (aft deck 17). The jacuzzis are a very popular activity and always fill up early. They are heated, so it's best to enjoy them in the morning, late afternoon, or evening. Some of the jacuzzis have canopies and some don't, so it's a matter of luck which one you get.
If you manage to draw the slot, you'll have the hot tub all to yourself, and no other groups will be allowed in your hot tub during this COVID period. Because of this, the hot tubs are in high demand.
Jacuzzis on the main pool deck This is Zouk Beach Club - the jacuzzis are at the backWater Slide
There are two waterslides, one for kids and one for adults.
The kid's slide is the orange slide and is on deck 16, right next to the main pool. In addition to the kid's slide, there is also a kid's pool.
The adult slides are located at the stern of Deck 17 and are called Water Slide Park. There are five slides with different levels of difficulty, from the easiest No. 1 to the scariest No. 5. The order of slides is from No. 1 to No. 5.
Personally, I only took No. 1, 2 and 3. No. 4 and No. 5 were both too steep so I didn't bother. No. 5 even had a little stretch at the beginning that almost felt like a free fall. To be honest, my back hurt from rubbing against the seams of the slide. I don't know if that's normal or not, but it certainly put me off going on the unlimited slides.
But it certainly put me off going on the unlimited slides. No reservation is required, just put on your swimsuit and climb the stairs from Deck 16 to Deck 17. There is a shelf halfway up the stairs where you can hang your mask, watch, glasses and accessories. You have to take the Key Room and Tracy Token with you, so you put them on the sun lounge by the main pool. There is no other way. There are no lockers for people using the slides.
Kids slide and pool - Deck 16 inside Water slides No. 1, No. 2, No. 3 - Deck 17 aftRope & Zip Line
It's the most rewarding activity on the cruise now. The rope course is located in the deck 18 AFT. You don't need to make a reservation, but you need to line up in a long line. In my observation, it is not so crowded after 4 pm. Of course, it may rain in the last afternoon, so don't wait until 4 pm! You have to wear your own shoes for this activity. There are small lockers that store keys, vouchers, and room accessories. The locker usage fee is free.
This rope course has two levels, one is close to the ground (called the lowest), and the other is the lowest (the highest). The lower one does not require a tail / wiring system and is not very fun. I took the lower one and went to the higher one. Yes, you have to wear a mask during the course!
2 level rope courseAt the beginning of the course, I was explained from the crew about how to lock and release the belt hook. After that, I left myself. There are various combinations on the route, but most people follow the outer edge. If the inner route (diagonal route) seems easier, you should take it. I took the outer route.
The rope route is hard! I'm afraid that I have to balance my body on a rope stand that can't be stopped at a high altitude, but I'm willing to fight the fear if I go to the starting point of the zip line. You cannot go straight to the starting point of the zip line, and you must pass the rope course.
Balancing beam-This is not so difficult. Bra n-This is difficultI thought the unstable scaffold was the worst part of this course, but that was a mistake. There is a rope wall in front of the zip line, ahead of the unstable platform, and you have to climb it horizontally! The rope does not grow, so support your body requires considerable power. And there is no villain system! I have no choice but to rely on the power of my arms and feet. Even worse, this course is not a flat rope wall, but a sturdy iron plate in the middle of the wall, and you can't go to the other side without climbing it! Who is the genius who designed this course?

This ropewall is very difficult! (Source: Dream Cruise)
If you release your hand from the rope without any strength on your limbs, you will be suspended in the air, and you will not be able to get over the person behind. There was so much pressure in me. I told the zip line staff (standing on the other side of the ropewall) that I was scared and unlikely. She said not to worry, she would help. I climbed the wall, and he climbed the rope wall and grabbed my harness on a large iron plate.
A few minutes later, I got over the rope! And I got on the zip line! This activity strongly recommends putting it in the itinerary!Gym
Climbing wall
The climbing wall is right next to the deck 18 stern and zip line. No reservation is required. Dedicated climbing shoes are available, but prepare your own socks. While climbing the climbing wall, there is a place to put your luggage, so you do not need to keep your luggage in the sun lounge while not in line.
There are four villain systems, but not four people go up at the same time. When we were in line, only one person could go up at the same time (I don't know why we couldn't open all four lines). So the waiting time was tremendously long. When we started lineing up, there were no 10 in front of us. Even after waiting for an hour, the order has not come yet. As a result, the activity of the day was canceled, and we were wasted one hour.If you're not a core climber, it's a waste of time to line up with this activity.

Mini golf
Mini golf is an activity that is "low in supply and in high demand." Basically, there is only one mini golf course on the whole cruise, and only one team can play at any time. Therefore, it is clear that it is difficult to secure a frame even if it is not the first day. Reservations are made on a bench near the rope. I couldn't get the frame when I tried to make a reservation on the day. I didn't know that there was a golf course, so I didn't apply early. If you are motivated, make a reservation early. Mini gol f-deck 18 back Table tennisCasino
Table tennis falls into the "high supply, high demand" category. There are plenty of tables and you can only book for 30 minutes at a time. So it's very easy to get a slot for table tennis. Don't worry, rackets and balls are provided. We tried to book for the second day, but the oldest slot was for the third day.

The gym is called Crystal Life Fitness. It's on Deck 15FWD. Reservations are required and can be made at the Crystal Life Spa (also on Deck 15FWD) or over the phone. You can only use it for 1. 5 hours per booking.
The gym offers a great ocean view. If you want to jog or run, the gym is definitely a better option than the cramped and crowded outdoor jogging track.

Bridge View Room
I accidentally entered the Bridge Viewing Room. After dinner, I was going to wander around the ship and ended up in this room with a model ship.
If you visit this room on a normal day, you can see inside the Captain's Room. However, when I visited on the first night, the curtain between this room and the Captain's Room was down, so I couldn't see inside the room.Bridge View Room - Deck 15 FF

CasinoLive at sea
The main casino is located on decks 6, 7, and 8 and consists of the usual slots, card games, table games, and arcade-like games like Coin Bulldozer. I don't know how to play card games or table games, so I played Coin Bulldozer for a few dollars, but unfortunately I didn't win anything.
Lottery
Cinema at sea
I'm not a gambler, so I only take over when I know that the results are all based on luck and technology and cannot be easily manufactured from my home. Watching the bingo games, I realized that the numbers were generated by computers, rather than a physical machine that pulled the ball with a random number. As a result, the reward was very attractive, but decided not to participate in the game. The prize for the final game was SGD 62. 888, and no one won this prize.
The virtual reality is in the ESC Experience Lab. If you buy a Dream Boys Show, you will get a VR free ticket. I didn't try VR games, probably because I was too focused on water activities, ropes, meals and shows. I would like to try it out if I have a cruise in the future. The price is not cheap, but I have never tried VR, so I think it's worth trying it once. Show at Zodiac TheaterDuring my stay, the main shows at the Zodiac Theater were VISION, FAITH (music / dance show), TWICE AS NICE (Music Show) and Teresa Ten. Reservations must be made from the dream app.
We were able to participate in VISION, FAITH, TWICE AS NICE. However, the dream app was always vacant and arrived at the theater too late, so there was no more vacant seats and could not see Teresa Ten.

Before the show, the staff sold a lucky ticket at the theater. It wasn't cheap, and I didn't buy it because it was a risk taker. However, I found that this coupon is a pretty hot product.
The first show was a phantom. I love this magic show, and I think it's sometimes humorous to involve Vincent's audience.
The second demonstration we attended was about faith. The show started quite late, at 10pm, and we were exhausted by the time we sat down. Perhaps because of our fatigue, we were unable to enjoy the show.
The third show we attended was twice as good. It was a musical performance by a couple from the US who could sing in several languages. They sang familiar songs and even Chinese songs well.
