In a miscommunication that the BBC is to blame for (both men were excellent), BBC News 24 staff grabbed the wrong guy (who was waiting in a different slot than Guy Cuney). He took his seat in the studio bitterly, and after wiping off his make-up (really), was introduced to the live audience as Guy Cuney, editor of technology website Newswireless, and asked three questions by BBC News 24 Business presenter H. Karen Bowerman about the Apple crisis and its impact on music downloads on the internet.

Meanwhile, the real Cuney sat in BBC reception watching himself on a screen.

What's fascinating about this story and the video that supports it is that

Guy Goma initially expresses surprise at the state of the interview, but his poor English and French accent lead the researcher to interpret Goma's response to mean that he is surprised by the court's decision. If you listen carefully, Guy Goma actually mentions "the interview" in his first response. Please see the transcript below. However, the pressure of the situation was too great and he had no choice but to play the role that fate had created for him. In fact, he has done quite well considering that he knew nothing about the matter. Subsequent media reports that Guy Goma was a taxi driver are false. He then went for a job interview, which he unfortunately did not get. As mentioned above, unfortunately Guy Cuney passed away on April 8, 2010. As of September 2010, his blog still exists. Please let me know if it is no longer available.
