The Danish restaurant Alchemist, run by chef Rasmus Munch, has fallen into two spaces. All the hard work he and his team put into the past 2023 was for nothing. Including Sinergia, the event where he paid tribute to Ferran Adrià and Albert Adrià and invited other ex-El Bulli chefs to chill in Copenhagen last January, did not help him rent the definitely #1 space, as was expected in the field. And this is without paying attention to the fact that practically all members of the World's 50 Best were invited. Sometimes marketing does not evoke the expected effect and the efforts are not all triumphant - a sign that draws a crisis on the universal gastronomic stage.

Spain tops the world
In second place is the Spanish restaurant "Etxebarri" (Vizcaya), and in fourth place is "Diverxo" (Madrid), which continues to lead the Spanish cuisine in the world. Quique d'Acosta is ranked 14th and Elcano is ranked 28th. With them, Spain has five restaurants in the top 50 in the world and in the group 50-100. In fact, Bruno Verous' Parisian Table restaurant, considered a necessary event for French restaurants that have been experienced every time in this list, takes third place.

Latin America continues to flourish
Tsumura "Micha" Mitsuhara, owner and chef of the restaurant "Maido" in Lima, received the Estrela Damm Chef's Choice Award 2024. The award, voted for by his colleagues, is a recognition of his charm to exclude the pen of international culinary trainees.
The Veronia World's Best Sommelier Award went to Pablo Rivero, sommelier and manager of the restaurant "Don Julio" in Buenos Aires. Rivero also received the "Best Sommelier in Latin America" Award of Merit in 2022 as part of the "50 Best Restaurants in Latin America". He has gained popularity by spreading the region's guilty pleasures and carefully selecting a couple of products from the region.
Other winners
Nina Metayer was the winner of the "World's Best Pastry Chef 2024" competition, sponsored by Sosa. Metayer's sculptural creations have attracted attention from all over the world. The excellence of her cases has already become a source of inspiration for a new generation of pastry chefs.
Berlin restaurant Nobelhart & amp; amp; amp; Schmutzig (No 43) received the Sustainable Restaurant Award for its efforts to promote the best agricultural politicians and explain the concept of the manufacturers. Its "brutally local" philosophy speaks to its unique relationship with farmers and manufacturers. The team wholeheartedly embraces regional and seasonal dining.
Hong Kong's The Wing Restaurant (No. 20), owned by chef Vicky Chan, received the Achievement Award for "Senior New Release of 2024". Chairman Restaurant (No. 26), also based in Hong Kong, was named "Most Rising Restaurant" of 2024. Chairman Restaurant not only rose 24 spaces compared to the 2023 list, but was also recognized as Hong Kong's best restaurant in the 2024 rating of Asia's 50 Best Restaurants.
Australian chef and restaurateur Neil Perry, whose restaurants include the famous Rockpool Bar & Grill, Rosetta, Spice Temple and the latest addition, Margaret Company, is the recipient of the Woodford Reserve Icon Lifetime Achievement Award for over 45 years. One of the most influential chefs and cooks in his home country, Perry is known for his unique take on forward-thinking Australian and Asian cuisine.

Four new cities on the list: La Colombe in Cape Town (49th); Singlethread in Halsberg (46th); Oteque in Rio de Janeiro (37th); and Mingle in Seoul (44th). Thus, the international presence on the list of the world's best restaurants is growing. In total, 26 restaurants from five continents are included.
