During his childhood, his father George was assigned to the second space base as a guard, so he was rarely at home. In 2246, the family visited Tarsus IV. In October of that year, a fatal famine hit the colony, and only half of the settlers had food. To save half of the population, Governor Kodos killed the remaining half, including Kirk. Kirk rescued the young Kevin Riley and managed to escape. Kirk, who ran away from his life, was rescued by Ambassador Salek. Salk fused with Kirk and erased his memory at that time. Salek rescued Kodos and gave him a new identity. By the 2260s, Kirk became one of the few living witnesses of codos's atrocities. (TOS episode "King's conscience"; TOS novel star flag "," Avenger)
The Kirk family, who died of Tarsus IV, moved in 2247 to withdraw Orion. However, because the war broke out between the two factions, Cosoo and Captain To s-Janus Gate, they were forced to leave on the transport ship Eliza May: the past prologue).
The Tarsus incident and his father's absence frustrated Kirk, causing a dangerous rebellion. In 2249, when he was 16 years old, Kirk led his friends to trek trekking from Iowa to Oregon and South America, but he could only reach the Dyna Career USS Enterprise on the way to the newly discovered Faramond archeological site. 。 On the way, the Enterprise was detoured by Vega IX, but the Karks family got on the contact cutter and finished the journey. Immediately afterwards, the cutter was hijacked by pirate Rex Moss and Shark crew. In a miserable situation, the fleet crew made an escape pod for young Jimmy Kark and sent it back to the Enterprise, but was inspired by the crew sacrifice and turned the pod to the Shark. He boarded the ship, encountered a pirate, and gave his way to the crew. After fighting over the dominance of the ship, the Enterprise headed for their rescue. With these events, he regained his respect for his father and fleet and decided to join the Academy. But he had no idea that fate was making another plan. When he is in charge of the legendary federal spacecraft, his fate will bring back the enterprise to him. (TOS novel: Best fate)
After returning to Earth, George arranged for James to be assigned to an industrial freighter to learn what a space mission would be like. (TOS - The New Earth: Wagons to the Stars)
Fleet Academy
Kirk enrolled in the Fleet Academy in 2250 at the age of 17. He was sponsored by Captain Robert April (TOS novel "The Best of Both Worlds"), Admiral R. Mallory, and Admiral La Forge. Because of his important sponsorship, Kirk felt pressured to excel in his first year at the Academy, fearing to disappoint those who sponsored him. As a result, he gained a reputation as a straight-laced cadet, which made him somewhat disliked by his fellow cadets. (ST reference: Spaceflight Chronology; TOS novel: Galactic Vortex; TOS - My Brother's Keeper novel: Republic)
He followed in the footsteps of not only his father, but also his great-grandfather, Samuel Abraham Kirk, who served as on-board historian on the USS Pioneer, one of the first ships of the Federation Starfleet, in the 2160s. (ENT - Rise of the Federation novel: A Choice of Futures)
First Year (2250-2251) [ ]
2251, Cadet Kirk.
In early 2251, Kirk is close to his 18th birthday and impresses his instructors in a Spitfire. (TOS - Starfleet Academy novel: Cadet Kirk)
Kirk served aboard the Republic for several months as a training officer during the Vulcan Expedition, one of several ships that orbited Vulcan to introduce the fleet to the Vulcan people. ( TOS novel: The Stranger from the Sky )
Kirk also participated in the Axanar peace mission with Captain Bannock and the Republic. They persuaded the Axanar to sign a peace treaty with the Federation and change the shape of the Federation-Klingon border. As a result of their participation, Kirk was awarded the Axanar palm leaf and the rank of lieutenant for his efforts. ( TOS novel: Republic, From the Depths )
Year 2 (2251-2252) [ ]
During his second year at Fleet Academy, Kirk earned the respect of his instructors and was assigned to teach a class on Federation history to the first-year students. After overhearing first-year cadet Gary Mitchell describe him as a "piles of books with legs," Kirk reassigned him to his class. Kirk and Mitchell often played racquetball together. Their growing friendship helped Kirk overcome his need to live up to his sponsor's expectations and learn to relax somewhat, not behaving like a "walking freezer unit," as Mitchell put it. (TOS - My Brother's Keeper, a novel: Republic)
In late 2251, Kirk and Mitchell were assigned to a training mission for the Republic, where they were to patrol the Klingon Neutral Zone for two weeks. When the cadets were ordered back to their quarters by the captain because a senior officer was going on a secret mission, Mitchell convinced Kirk to try to access the sensor logs to find out what had happened. This attracted the attention of Captain Bannock, who reprimanded the two cadets. A subsequent reconnaissance mission to Alpha Varangis was called off in order for the Republic to attend peace talks on the planet Hiartzan. An assassination attempt to sabotage the talks was thwarted thanks to the efforts of Mitchell, Kirk, and Ferana Udrin (an Andorian with whom Kirk had been in a relationship), and they were commended by Bannock. (TOS - My Brother's Keeper Novel: Republic)
Year 4 (2253-2254) [ ]
Around 2254, Kirk transferred to the Fleet Academy Command School, where he became the only cadet in the history of the fleet to pass the Kobayashi Maru scenario. On his third attempt, Kirk and his fellow cadets' computers contacted the Klingon battle cruiser IKS Qyam and allowed them to reveal their true identities. The mock Klingons were reprogrammed to convince Kirk that he was a legendary hero, and the Klingon commander Kozo freed Kirk's mock USS Potemkin and had him escort it to a damaged freighter. After the 18-minute scenario ended, Vance Kojiro, the captain of the SS Kobayashi Maru, invited Kirk to dinner as a thank you for his daring rescue. Kirk's instructors were outraged, and the admiral was court-martialed, with Admirals Jubrik and Zheng deducting 99 points, close to expulsion. Despite the criticism, Kirk was praised for his original thinking. Early career in Starfleet
Aboard the USS Farragut (2254-2257) [ ]
Shortly after graduation, Kirk and his friend Vicki Lee were assigned to the USS Farragut under Captain Garovic in 2254. For the first six months, Kirk was tasked with managing the cargo hold. By the end of the year, Kirk had earned Captain Garovic's respect and trust, and accompanied him on his first reconnaissance mission to the planet Neural, where he befriended a local man named Tyree. ( TOS novelization and comic book adaptation: The Ashes of Eden; TOS episode: A Private Little War; TOS comics: "Class Reunion")
Two weeks after the battle, the Farragut docked at Starbase 7 so Kirk could receive treatment for his injuries. He remained under the care of Dr. Leonard McCoy for seven months. Kirk and McCoy became best friends, and the two made several visits to McCoy's home in Centaurus, where they met McCoy's daughter Joanna. (TOS novel: Peril of the Centaurus)
After returning to the Farragut, Lt. Kirk began a relationship with weapons officer Faith Morgan, and the two began sharing quarters in 2257. (TOS novel: Ashes of Eden)
In early 2257, while surveying the planet Tycho IV, the crew of the Farragut was attacked by a dikironium cloud creature. The attack killed 200 crew members, including Captain Garovic and Faith Morgan. Though he felt guilty for the deaths, Kirk took command of the Farragut and ordered it to set course for Starbase 16. (TOS - My Brother's Keeper Novel: Constitution)
Twenty-four hours after the Farragut's crew was devastated by the cloud creature, Kirk handed over command to Captain Garovic's first-in-command, Commander Art Chenowith. While Kirk and a passenger, T'Cel, a half-Romulan, half-Vulcan electronics engineer, were attempting to repair the ship's navigational sensors, the Farragut was attacked again. This time, they were attacked by aliens of unknown origin, more durable and violent than anything the fleet had seen in the past two centuries. They penetrated the ship's secondary hull with passenger-carrying bullets, killing many of the remaining crew, including Kirk's friend Diane Morwood and her entire damage control team. Kirk was severely wounded in the battle, but managed to detonate the explosive bolt that triggered the separation of the Farragut's primary hull. T'Cel dragged him, who was rapidly bleeding out, and struggled with the creature to an escape pod. The pod was jettisoned just before Farragut's weapons destroyed the secondary hull. (TOS Comics "Debt of Honor")
The pod's communications were disrupted by the field ionization effect created in the aftermath of the drive section's destruction. T'Cel piloted the pod to the construction site of a watchtower station along the Romulan Neutral Zone. There, she tended to Kirk's injuries, and the two slept together. As the Romulan Bird of Prey approached the station, T'Cel placed Kirk in a capsule and departed in a pod to attract the Romulans' attention. When Kirk returned to Earth, the Chief of Fleet Operations informed him that Commander Chenowith believed it was Kirk's fault for saving the ship at the cost of his own life. T'Cel's pod was found shattered after impact with an asteroid. (TOS Comics "Debt of Honor")

Kirk did not want to be tied to the Admiral, but Ciana promised as much as possible so that Kirk could be able to conduct enterprise again when the renovation was completed, and persuaded him. In 2270, Kirk requested Kevin Riley to Colonel and requested an assistant at the Fleet headquarters. Despite the concern of Admiral Heihachiro Nokura, the Admiral accepted it, and Riley accepted it. Veger case
In 2273, Earth was threatened by an approaching energy cloud, the Vugere, which absorbed information (and destroyed) from any object in its path. The only ship capable of intercepting it was the Enterprise, which was nearly fully refitted but still undergoing commissioning. After convincing Admiral Nokura that he was the best person to deal with the threat, Kirk rushed the Enterprise into service and assumed the position of captain for the duration of the mission. Willard Decker, who had been demoted to First Officer, viewed Kirk's command as an insult and a fault, pointing to his recent deskwork and unfamiliarity with the ship's new systems.
The entity turned out to be the 20th century NASA space probe Voyager VI. Kirk granted Decker's wish and merged with Voyager through a replica of his lover Ilia, integrating Voyager's mechanical nature with its human origins. This merger resulted in the birth of a radically new, benign lifeform. ( TOS film, novelization, comic book adaptation )
Second Five-Year Plan (2273-2278) [ ]
In 2273, Kirk had the opportunity to tell the story of the Kobayashi Maru test to several senior staff members stranded on a drifting shuttle after an accident. ( TOS novel: Kobayashi Maru ) When a child was killed by a plasma grenade during a battle between the Klingons and the Enterprise's landing party on Kraggon V, Wayland, the planet's all-powerful ruler, punished Kirk by sending Sulu, Scotty, and Chekov back in time. He also disabled the engines of the Enterprise and the Klingon ship, causing them to collapse into orbit. Kirk allied with the Klingon commander Krall and convinced Wayland to regain control of their ship. Pleasantly surprised by Kirk's officers' noble actions in the past and by Kirk and Krall's willingness to cooperate, Wayland eventually returned the three to the Enterprise and regained control of the two ships. Kirk and Krall reported to their respective command centers that Kragon V should be avoided in the future. Aer has proposed that Enterprise is towing the enterprise in the Romulan space, destroying Kirk's ship as if he had destroyed or captured, and moved to Levai V to destroy the project. Kirk opposed it, but the Intripid disappeared, and all Balkan crews were caught by Romulan for research projects, so they had to follow. Kirk and Aer have succeeded in rescuing the Intripid crew and stopping the Levai V plan together with their own crews. Despite the fact that Aeru's son, Toughf, tried to take the Enterprise as a revenge on Charvanek, a cousin, a cousin who had previously deceived Kirk and Spock. (TOS novel: My enemy, my ally)
Returned (2280s) [] Nameless Enterprise, under the command of Kirk, tested an inverted drive, a promotion system developed by scientists in Hamaruki and Balkan. Enterprise using a reversal drive was the first space fleet ship that sailed beyond the small Magellan star. Unfortunately, the drive was found to damage the spac e-time cloth, and after the damage was restored by the sel f-sacrifice of Hamaruki's physicist Kthulk, the Enterprise returned to the Milky Way. During these events, Kirk performed out of the ship in outer space between the galaxies, and his crew and his crew had a strange experience, completely clarified the essence of themselves and themselves. (TOS novel: Sky full of scratches)
Immediately afterwards, Kirk was instructed by the Fleet Command to head to the border between the Romulan neutral areas, leading the mission unit consisting of enterprise, USS Intripid, USS Constellation, and USS Inaju. Khan's anger
Until 2285, Kirk was still an instructor of a fleet Academy, examined the results of Kobayashi Maru scenario scenarios, and participated in a USS Enterprise, a Captain, and occasionally participated in a training cruise.
He escaped from Cetti Alpha V (after the destruction of the sister Star Setty Alpha VI, turned into a barren wilderness) and recruited the USS Relilion to revenge Kirk. Khan was stealing a Genesis device created by Carol and David Marcus and trying to use it to conquer the galactic. Kirk managed to stop Khan, but paid a big price: Spock saved the Enterprise at the expense of his life when Khan exploded the device. (TOS movie, novelize, comic: Khan's anger)
Conductor recovery
After one case with Khan, Kirk succeeded in conducting the USS Enterprise to Admiral Steven Turner Space Fleet. The Genesis case had been controversial, and the Turner wanted to be far away from the earth when the Kirk and Crew were questioned by the Genesis case.
Immediately after regaining the command of enterprise, Kark, Captain Captain Captain Servik, and Nancy Blythe have succeeded in destroying Clingon's experimental space station in the wormhole space with the cooperation of the pacifist Clingon's exile. 。 Immediately afterwards, Kirk and Clingon's commander confronted Organians and Excalvia in the Organian, and it was found that the recent conflict was as the result of the Excalvia manipulating the two. The incident ended in the conflict between the organians and the Excalvia, and the peaceful peace by Organians was clearly ended. (TO S-to Boldly Go Comics: "The Wormhole Connection", "The only Good Klingon.," "Errand of War!", "Deadly Allies!")
After the war ended, Kirk and the Enterprise were sent to Beta Epsilon VI to search for survivors of the USS Valor. Kirk, Doc McCoy, Lt. Saavik, Lt. Sherwood, and Ensign Bearclaw were beamed to the surface. There, they found the only survivor, Lieutenant Philip Hodges, who was worshipped as a god. When Hodges was kidnapped, Kirk, the landing party, and Hodges' wife Lila went to search for them. After rescuing Hodges, Kirk, the landing party, Lieutenant Hodges, and his wife departed with the Enterprise. Later, Kirk and the Enterprise were ordered to accompany Ambassador Robert Fox to a peace conference between the Klingon Empire and the Federation. Unfortunately, an agent of the Orion Victory Alliance, the ambassador's real daughter, boarded the ship and attempted to kill the ambassador. Fortunately, Kirk and his crew were able to negotiate and save the ambassador and his daughter. TOS - Comics "To Boldly Go": "Mortal Gods", "Who Is. Enigma?"
A few weeks later, the Enterprise clashes with Romulan scientists attempting to recreate the events that gave Gary Mitchell godlike powers. The Romulans succeed, but Kirk manages to lure the Romulan ship and all of the empowered Romulans into the galactic barrier. (DC Comics #7-8)
Searching for Spock
When Kirk learns from Fleet Admiral Harry Morrow that the Enterprise is being decommissioned, the USS Enterprise returns to Earth to repair the damage it sustained in battle. Kirk wants to return to the planet Genesis with the ship, but Morrow forbids him from going.
When it is determined that Spock has left his katra (his memories and life essence) in Dr. McCoy's mind and that McCoy's sanity depends on retrieving Spock's body, Kirk and his crew steal the Enterprise from spacedock, despite orders, and head for Genesis. When the Enterprise arrived on Genesis, a Klingon Bird of Prey destroyed the USS Grissom, an attached science ship, and the Klingons, led by Commander Kruge, took Kirk's son David Marcus, Saavik, and Spock (who was miraculously regenerated due to the unique properties of the planet Genesis) hostage.
Kirk succeeds in saving Genesis from the Klingons, but at the cost of the Enterprise and the life of his son. Kirk returns Spock and McCoy to Vulcan in Kluge's Bird of Prey, where he performs the ritual of Falto-Pan, restoring Spock and McCoy to health. ( TOS film, novelization, and comic: Finding Spock )
Return to the Mirror Universe
Shortly after, Kirk and crew leave a restored Spock on Vulcan and travel to Regula One in a captured Bird of Prey to inform Carol Marcus of David's death and return to Earth to take responsibility for their actions. They are met by the USS Excelsior, commanded by Captain Lawrence Stiles, with orders to return Kirk to Earth. The Excelsior soon comes under attack from the ISS Enterprise and James T. Kirk. Mirror Kirk took command of the Excelsior while Primary Kirk and his crew took command of the mirror Enterprise. When Mirror Kirk realized what Primary Kirk had done, he attacked the Enterprise, but after a violent retaliation, Mirror Kirk remotely accessed the Enterprise's computers and initiated an auto-destruct sequence. This auto-destruct sequence was irreversible, allowing Kirk to detach the saucer at the moment of destruction and escape. After nearly escaping, Kirk was able to disable the Excelsior by dismantling its major components with the ship's Tantalus field. After protecting the Excelsior from the invaders, Kirk again disobeyed orders and took it to the Mirror Universe to thwart their invasion plans.
Kirk pretended to be Mirror Kirk and pretended to take the Excelsior as a trophy and as a sample of the enemy's most advanced technology. He was soon joined by mirror Spock and his own universe's Spock (whose mental instability was corrected after mind-melding with his mirror counterpart, the same mind-meld freed mirror Spock from his irrational hatred for his mirror counterpart and all he represented). Kirk swore he would use the Excelsior to spearhead the coming invasion, but in reality he was working with a rebel underground group on the mirror Earth seeking to overthrow the Terran Empire, led by mirror Kirk's son, David Marcus.
Kirk used energy neutralization technology to successfully neutralize the Terran, Klingon and Romulan Imperial fleets in that universe, and handed the Terran ships over to Mirror David of the Terran Resistance. With the fleet deactivated, Kirk and the Excelsior returned to their original dimension. (DC Comics #9-15 The Mirror Universe Saga)
The Excelsior
When Kirk and the Excelsior returned from the Mirror Universe, Kirk and crew learned that they still had to face charges from Fleet Command. Kirk leaked information to Andorian reporter Lindora Dean of the Proxima Transmitted News that they had thwarted the Mirror Universe invasion. Public support for Kirk was growing, and it would not be politically wise for the fleet to charge him. Instead, Admiral Turner gave Kirk temporary command of the Excelsior. To keep an eye on Spock's condition, he was given command of the science ship USS Surak. (DC Comics 1st Series #16)
Kirk served as captain of the Excelsior for nearly a year. During that time, his missions included a second confrontation with the entity known as Redjack, first contact with Grond, and mediating a conflict at a mining colony known as "Magellan's World." (DC Comics 1st Series 22-23, 24-25, 31-32) When the Excelsior discovered that Surak had crashed into the sun and that all crew members except Spock had died of a mysterious disease, Kirk followed the infection's trail to the Romulan Empire. Wanting to save even the Romulan lives, Kirk led the Excelsior into the Romulan Quadrant. There, Kirk worked with the Romulan commander to search for a cure for the mysterious Doomsday Worm. Despite Kirk's success, the fleet was furious at Kirk for violating neutral territory and decided it was time to finally frame Kirk for a number of crimes. However, Spock falls ill with a mysterious illness, reversing the tranquilizing effect on Spock brought about by the mind-meld with the mirror Spock. Kirk and his command crew abandon the Excelsior on the Bird of Prey and return Spock to Vulcan for treatment. (DC Comics #1 Series 34-36) Voyage Home In early 2286, three months after being expelled from Balkan, Kirk and Crew decided to return to the earth and face their charges. There was also a spock that decided to testify on behalf of Kirk. On the way to the Earth on the Bird of Play, Kirk and the crew approached an alien spacecraft. The spacecraft neutralized all technology and tried to hyle the atmosphere of the earth. Kirk, who received a planetary distress signal from the Federal President Hyram Ross, performed sling shots on the Bird of Play, time slip in the past, and collected pair of whales in the 20th century. Kirk succeeded, saved the earth again, and it was not politically wise to prosecute Kirk. However, Kirk was in charge of the newly built USS Enterprise-A, following the "punishment" of being demoted to the captain. (Tos Movie, Novelization & Amp; Comic Adaptation: The Voyage Home) Enterpris e-A Enterprise-A Shake Down Cruise was tragic to be tragic because religious fanatics intended to kill Kirk with "human and God's crime" and sabotized the ship's warp engine. Fortunately, Kirk's crew succeeded in restoring it before the destruction was irreparable. (TOS Comic: "CHOICES!") A few weeks later, Kirk and Enterprise-A returned to Gamma Line Triangri, 20 years after Kirk destroyed Var, a computer that controls the planet. Most of the indigenous people of Gamma Triangli VI, which were no longer affected by Var, had retreated from barbarism. Kirk had to recognize his previous mistakes, and Spocks succeeded in reconfigting the vary. (TOS Comics "PARADISE LOST!", "Past Perfect", "Devil Down Below") Attempted murder Immediately after that, Kirk was dispatched to investigate because Clingon's outpost base and ship were attacked by the federal spacecraft USS Zephyr, commanded by Captain Phil Barows. Kirk stopped the rebellion, but it was confirmed that the corpse after his death was by Captain Barows, further deepening the mystery of who was behind the attack. In early 2287, an attempt was made on Kirk's life by a man calling himself Ensign William Bearclaw, who Kirk had recently been transferred to. As new evidence was discovered and Kirk began to reconsider his accusation, the real assassin, Garth the Izar figure, was revealed. Garth had been impersonating Bearclaw and Captain Burrows. He was angry that he had not been promoted in the fleet since his rehabilitation and blamed Kirk for it. (DC Comics 1st Series 48-55; Who Killed Captain Kirk? The Enterprise headed for Nimbus III, but was taken over by Sivok, who used his mysterious psychic powers on the Enterprise crew. Sivok led the Enterprise-A to the barrier at the center of the galaxy to free The One, whom Sivok believed to be a god-like being. The One killed Sivok and was about to do the same to Kirk, but Kirk was rescued by Spock and General Koldo of the Klingon Defense Forces. ( TOS movie, novelization & amp; comic adaptation: The Final Frontier ) The Hunted Man On the way to Kasmus III, the Enterprise-A encountered a pursuit ship of Nasgul refugees, acting under the orders of Sara, the leader of the Nasgul. Kirk was forced to destroy the ship when it refused to retreat. Later, when Sara contacted the Enterprise-A about the rescued Nasgul refugees, Kirk was shocked to find that the refugees had died simply because of Sara's orders. Sara then sentenced Kirk to death when he recklessly refused to die. This angered the species' leaders, who were widely considered fanatics. Galileo, who witnessed a human ship that crossed the Borders of the Stars, was destroyed by the coalition boat ICV Vanic, claiming that the Vulcan Captain T 'Pudding claimed that the human transport ship would not be called. This led to a deep resentment of Kirk, not only for Vulcans but also to other aliens, and Mitchell has a Saurien brandy bottle to threaten the profit of the earth. I came to think. 2371 Kirk was deeply resentful of the enthusiast of Enterprise, transferring Tapol, Ambassador Nancy Hedford, and Ambassador Garrett Tarses to Babel. When the three diplomats were transferred to enterprise, he was scolded by Captain Pike that he did not try to hide his emotions. Shortly before the priz e-making work, Kirk came to the idea of an elegant solution, albeit extremely unusual for the diplomatic situation in Chronean III (the planet that beat and kill the Federal Ambassador and hindered the peace process. I believe that the leader is transferred to the planetary frontier sector, let the people believe in his death), and the fleet is assigned a diplomatic officer called R. J. Blaze to the ship to suppress Kirk a little. Ta. After the Enterprise arrived in Babel, Kirk was angry and refused to remind the ambassador Arya in Deltan, causing a dangerous interstellar case. Immediately afterwards, Varkan's Salek councilor believes that if the Earth joins Kark and the Earth joins the interstellar coalition, it will be enhanced that Valkan will be able to withdraw, so the Earth will join the Intergainment Union. He confessed that he was opposed. As a result, Kirk secretly carried Tupol to Babel and demanded that he would talk alone. Kirk accepted Salleck's request. However, when Tupol was missing the next morning, the pike unraveled Kirk's mission and confined Kirk in the dormitory that knew what he had done. Immediately, he revealed that the person who requested Tupol in Babel was not Salek, but a Commander of Romulan named Keras. Keras was very similar to the ambassador, presuming that it may share its ancestors before the 2000 years ago. < SPAN> In a chess game held in the Enterprise cafeteria, McCoy is a former Vulcan, a former Vulcan, and the end of the Enterprise (NX-01). He suggested that Tupol, the surviving crew, would be able to make a challenge to Kirk. In response to the comment, Kirk clearly showed the attitude of disliking foreigners against the Balkans, and was similar to Lieutenant John Styles. McCoy has announced that his ancestors in their 20s and over their 20s are from Georgia, where Maltin Luther King Jr., more than 300 years ago, started working as a civil rights activist. He argued that expressing prejudice against others based on the race is no different from having such emotions on other humans based on the skin color. McCoy, who was tired, knew he had furious Kirk, but believed that he had at least given Kirk. This evaluation was ultimately proven. However, after the Romulan Bird-of-Prey was destroyed and Pike was taken to hospital, Kirk assumed command of the Enterprise. After Pike recovered, he led the rescue mission for T'Pol from the damaged Bird-of-Prey, after which he apologized to the Vulcans for their capture by the Romulans. Kirk told T'Pol of the deaths of his wife and son, and T'Pol told him that her husband, Charles Tucker III, had been murdered by xenophobes on December 31, 2199. Kirk responded by telling her that he would see her in every Vulcan he met, indicating that his narrow-minded views were beginning to fade. (TOS - Novel Infinite Universe: Imperfect Union)
